In “The Epic of Gilgamesh” there are many characters, but the two most interesting are Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Gilgamesh is someone who is restless, unsettled, and has a rash temperament, but he is also valiant and endowed with strength. Enkidu is also said to have the same characteristics but both of them are different in what they are in terms of species. Gilgamesh is one-third human and two-thirds god while Enkidu is one-third human and two-thirds beast. Besides that difference, they are very similar and they get along very well.

Once upon a time, there was a quiet, little town up on a hill of an island. The town of Moriconi’s English land has plenty of everything. This town never runs out of food and always has a supply of happiness. The town’s main source of food are the blue fish in the surrounding calm waters of the island. One day, as a storm rolled in across the blue sky, casting a shadow over the town, they of Moriconi’s English land started to worry. Following the storm was the notorious monster in the ocean. This notorious monster ate every fish in the sea and anything that was in its way. The town faced trouble as the ocean was their source of food. The notorious monster was eating the innocent fishermen in their little wooden boats. The town may have everything it needed, but they didn’t have a hero.

In our story “Beowulf” it is told that our main character, Beowulf, is considered an epic hero to the Anglo-Saxon poets. We can agree on this due to the fact of how much of a great warrior he was considered throughout the stories told of him. To be considered an epic hero you must have the traits of one. They consist of loyalty, friendship, leadership, courage, determination, helpful and wise. Beowulf consisted of all of these traits when dealing with Grendel the monster under the lake. Before he went into combat with the beast, he met with his brother Hrothgar, who’s king of the danes and said to him “Hail, Hrothgar! Higlac is my cousin and my king.” showing loyalty to his liege. When he and his army went out to face Grendel in her own home, it was Beowulf who was the first to leap out to face the beast with no fear. Only his courage, leadership and his sword by his side until he lost it in the fight with the deadly monster. Whilst’ in the fight with Grendel, Beowulf loses his sword, and was quoted saying “My hands alone shall fight for me, struggle for life against the monster”. Beowulf is trying to make something out of him in his final moments. He wishes to do something that causes his legacy and stories to live on forever.

This is the story of Beowulf. Beowulf is an epic hero who did many heroic deeds that made him famous. He fought bloody battles with many supernatural creatures, one of them being Grendel, a dragon. In this story, Beowulf is going to fight Grendel’s mother and kill her for all the murders that she committed. When Grendel’s mother, another demonic sea monster, attacks a village and gets defeated by the army of that village, she retreats to her cave below the waters. Beowulf follows her into her lair to kill her.

The Epic of Gilgamesh shows the true meaning of a hero. Gilgamesh is shown as an epic hero through his skill, intelligence, commitment to die and his respect for death. Throughout the entire story, Gilgamesh displays his outrageous skill as a warrior and leader. “Gilgamesh is strong to perfection.” “He is an awesome beast with unmatched strength and a chant that fosters armies.” He leads his tribe into battle without fear and defeats everyone they come by; it’s stated that, “Gilgamesh’s tribe is invincible, and aroused by small insults.” This shows his amazing leadership ability, in that his tribe is willing to fight knowing that their King will not let them down. He shows his great strength by fighting the mighty beast Humbaba. Even though the enemy was still no match for Gilgamesh’s skill, he was able to take down the beast and return home safely. He also shows his fighting skills when he makes Ishtar mad at him and she tells Anu to release the bull to go and squash Gilgamesh. Once again Gilgamesh was dominant in the battle and the attempt to relieve his city of the harmful bull he, “plunged his sword into the throat held fast by Enkidu.” Finally, Gilgamesh shows his power during his journey to Utnapishtim. When he reaches the top of the mountain, the dangerous scorpion guard said to him: “No mortal man has ever come to know what you seek here. Not one of your kinds has come so far.” When we first meet Gilgamesh, he is a king who scares the people of Uruk. After he meets Enkidu and becoming his friend Gilgamesh turns into a hero with many things to remember. The friendly love the two have for each other helps him become a better leader to his people by letting him to understand and know them better than he has before. Gilgamesh truly learns the difficult task that even as a king, he also must face the reality of his own death. On their way to the Cedar Forest to face Humbaba, Enkidu shows his concerns about death, which Gilgamesh blows off, telling Enkidu that no one will live forever and that life is very short. When Enkidu dies, Gilgamesh is so “out of his mind” that goes out of his way to Utnapishtim and wants to learn the secret of immortality. Regardless of his hopes, Utnapishtim tells Gilgamesh the story of the flood. He explains to Gilgamesh that the journey for immortality is a useless one, as an invention itself also has the seed of death, making it obvious.

every person was making loads of money. All was well until on new years of 2041 where the space Nazies began to try to conquer the whole space galaxy. The space Nazies, or also known as the Spazies at the time already conquered Omicron 26 and krypton 9. The next planet the Spazies wanted to conquer was Elysium, In the next days the Spazies space ships approached Elysium. The people of Elysium were very scared because they had no military because there hasn’t been any conflict with Elysium in over 25 years. The only person that has survived an attack from the Spazies was Disco Stew, the fierce warrior from omicron 26. Disco Stew flew to Elysium to warn the people that the Spazies would attack on Easter and that he would join them in battle to fight the Spazies. Gill Bates, The leader of the people from Elysium weren’t going to fight and they would not need to go to battle because they would come up with a peace treaty. Starlord the second in command disagreed Gill Bates and said the space nazies would attack no matter what. Starlord met up with Disco Stew to get a military set up to fight. Starlord, who was the former ruler of planet earth from 2030-2035 before it was conquered, was able to defeat the Spazies I battle before so he thought it could be done again. Disco Stew and Starlord began to recruit troops to go to battle. They were able to gather up ten-thousand troops which was no battle to the Spazies fleet of twenty-five million. The Spazies knew that the Elysian people didn’t have a strong military. The leader of the Spazies, Hdolf Aitler arrived on Elysium ten days before the big battle was going to take place and made a agreement with Disco Stew and Starlord that they would select their ten best warriors and do a 10 versus 10 battle, which would be the battle of the battles. Starlord and Disco Stew gathered up their crew and prepared for battle. The ten warriors would meet on neural ground, the planet of Dance Dance Revolution where the battle would take place. The warriors brought their own DDR3 Mats and prepared for the battles that would change history. The Spazi warriors set up their mats and Hdolf started to dance….. Up arrow, left arrow, right right, up, down. Hdolf destroyed 3 of the Elysian warriors with this one dance move. Hdolfs second in command was able to destroy the 5 other warriors with another move. Starlord was terrified and gave up but Disco Stew didn’t do the same thing, Hdolfs army killed his family and he wouldn’t let the same thing happen to more people. Disco Stew used all of his saved up energy, and did a right step, left step double bogie, backflip splits which blew away all ten of the warriors including Hdolf. All of the Spazies retreated and left all of the planets they conquered and returned home and stayed there until the great power outage of 2043 that destroyed the universe.

Beowulf is an ancient England's hero, and like all the epic heroes, he possesses super human strength. He embodies the highest ideals of Anglo-Saxon culture. In his quest he must defeat monsters that embody dark, destructive powers. At the end of the quest, he is glorified by the people he has saved. Yet he has too much common with an epic hero. As every hero is strong and a savior, a hero also carries a lot of burden on his shoulders and has a at least one weakness. Usually an epic hero's most common weakness is their beloved ones. But in this narrative Beowulf's weakness is his over confidence. He thinks he's invincible which I think brings him to his end. He is a good person. He cares about his people and their problems, such as the Grendel and the evil Dragon, and deals with them as a hero. Even in his last breath he gives the treasure of the Dragon to his people so they can have a good life." To the everlasting Lord of All, to the King of Glory, I give thanks that I behold this treasure here in front of me, that I have been thus allowed to leave my people so well endowed on the day I die. Now that I have bartered my last breath to own this fortune, it is up to you to look after their needs." (802).
