Many crew members and characters die (or have died while Odysseus has been away) while he spends 20 years trying to get home. Write an obituary where you give tribute to the life the character led, how the character died, and what their death symbolizes in the overall picture of the story. 200 words.

Odysseus was a great person, when people were in danger, he would lead them into battle, and always try to win. He didn't stop, and also be a little fond of himself, but yeah he loved what he did, what he lived on this earth for. He loved his wife very dearly, and felt bad he couldn't be there with his son, because of his travels. No matter how bad the travels got, he worried about others, than himself. He cared how his crew was doing, and how his family was doing, and even the island, Ithaca. He would only care about himself before he cared about him. We thank him for all he's done, and we pay tribute to him today, for being a man a lot of us couldn't be today or probably ever. Thank you.

Odysseus was a hero at first, but grew more into that role while on the journey back to Ithaca. He did what he could to save his men worrying less about his own. His death symbolizes loyalty to his men and bravery on the hard and difficult journey. The perilous journey required endurance, courage, and cunning and all traits he was bestowed and used. It always seemed as if he maxed out his physical and mental abilities, but always yet to surprise enemies. He was an exceptional man and deserved a quiet and peaceful death that awaits all of us. I hope any gods that respected or admired his cunning self lets him have the honor to rest in peace, for that is the least he deserves. He was a warrior at heart and a leader at the same time, which faced many challenges of the supernatural and wrath of the gods, but defeated all. He a symbolic hero to mortals who are below the gods, that we can be more and mortal at the same time.

On the journey which Odysseus led, many men died. For example, Odysseus led his men over to the Cyclops which rested in his cave and a lot of his men were slaughtered. The Cyclops feasted on his men and Odysseus saw the horror of death right in front of his eyes. The men died in honor; there death meant the survival of Odysseus and his remaining men. The men of Odysseus whom died stands for the victory and freedom that has been brought to him. Odysseus had robbed the Cyclops of sight. Odysseus’s men died and they will be remembered.

Odysseus was never described as anything less than a mighty warrior who's courageous, optimistic, and intelligent. That is what got him all the men that he once had before they died. They died for him and what he wanted and believed he could accomplish. each and every one of them had great lives and families as well as the potential to surpass Odysseus. Some died from monsters like Charybdis and Scylla. But that did not make their deaths any less meaningless than if they would've died any other way. Odysseus couldn't have possibly gotten as far as he did on his journey home without his crew members. They will be missed by admirers and family members for a long time.

Many men perished in the long, dangerous journey that Odysseus led. Perhaps the most tragic event was when Odysseus made a mistake. His curiosity got the best of him and he found himself stuck with his men in the Cyclops Lair. Then while stuck in the cave, the Cyclops ate some of Odysseus's men. These men died in a cave, being devoured by a horrific monster. They died at the beginning of the journey. Maybe they would have died anyway further into the journey, however if Odysseus had his curiosity under control, these men wouldnt have lost their life's. However, whats done is done, and these men were very brave warriors, fierce, courageous, and cunning. They died heroes.

Odysseus led a great crew of men. They had the same hope of going home as Odysseus did which made them more loyal to him. They listened and followed orders well to their leader despite some of the greatest dangers such as the The Sirens and Scylla and although they weren’t controlled when having to deal with the cattle of Helios, it was only because they were human and had to pay the ultimate price of death which was by drowning. Their role on their journey was to help Odysseus get to his homeland and reclaim his kingdom so that they may be home and live peacefully. The gods did not have to let them go through such a hard price since they were growing hungry and weak and needed food so they had to kill it. Hopefully they live a peaceful afterlife and not have to suffer anymore. They have been loyal and good men and they deserve to be in peace. Odysseus should be thankful too for having such great men to be with. May they rest in peace.

Odysseus was a great hero who always won his battles. He had a great sense of arrogance that got him into tuff spots that he couldn’t get out of. He died because some of the decisions he made were very stupid and childish. He sacrificed the lives of many men do to his lack of communication. Overall he had a lot of wit which helped his men survive longer until they drown by Zues’ lightning. This could have been pre vented if he told them the whole prophecy but as a leader he told them not to eat the cows. So he did try to help them and for that we give him a great honor. The path he lead required endurance, courage, and wit a few of the traits Odysseus had.

he character died bravely. He was heroic and did things that others wouldn’t do in the face in danger and bravery. This character was successful in helping his leader even though he was killed in action trying to get Odysseus back home. Their death was caused by themselves from starvation and by killing Helios’ cattle and eating it. He also was with their leader into conflict and had escaped with his life and many others. His leader was excellent in planning and keeping his calm. Every man who has fought with him has been brave and has fought with Odysseus and has been successful in keeping the mission going to get him home. This man has died in vain, but he died so that others may enjoy life and spend time with their loved ones. This person’s sacrifice was worthy and should be honored with remembrance and glory. It should be known that they weren’t the only that have died for this cause and that they were one of many. By natural forces and by the forces of men, they were the chosen ones to pay the price for others in the act of personal sacrifice and honor, he will never be forgotten.

Odysseus was a great leader, and always did what was best for his men. He had courage, wits, and a lot of responsibilities, and with such great responsibilities things can happen and not everything works out or goes according to plan. Lives were lost on Odysseus's journey home and these men were just as brave and important as Odysseus himself. Some lives were lost due to monsters, and Odysseus would always bring them into battle with a strong mind set of coming out of the battles as winners. Some of his men were even eaten before his eyes, but he had to look past this horror and try his best to protect the other men, and although not all lives could be saved over the course of this journey we remember all the fallen men as courageous and brave fighters who will never be forgotten.

I must begin to say that I grieve for the friends and family of Odysseus. He was a great man, who lived in a beautiful country with a wonderful family. I am sure that his son Telemachus will be a great successor to his father, and as brave too. Any rumors of Odysseus's death have been considered false, or simply misheard. On his trip, Odysseus and his crew sailed bravely, and with great expertise. They made it through many challenges: the Cyclops Polyphemus, suitors, sirens, Scylla, and Charybdis... to name only a few. They were washed ashore on an Island, but not just any Island. Thrinacia, the island where the Cattle of Helios pasture. The crew was desperate, and quickly snatched a cow for a feast. Odysseus knew this was wrong, and would lead to deathly consequences. So he quickly hid his crew and took the punishment for his actions. Odysseus was the greatest of heroes as we know of. He changed the lives of many, our perspective on the world was flipped upside down, and finally cleared. Many have grown to understand the world we live in and have become fierce warriors, taking pride in having Odysseus as their hero. His story will live on, inside of us.

Fraidas was a great sailor, he'd always bring the biggest catch back to his village. When sailing with Oddyseus he was swallowed by the creation of Posideon, Scyllas. She swallowed three men along with him to the depths of her three stomachs. We can only hop that he will rest in peace in the gardens of Persophone. Posideon should be punished for his crime to kill innocent people. Send him to where his father lies in the depths of tartarus, Posideon should be removed from the sea for eternity. Let us leave in the great name of this man and hope he is safe in the underworld.

Odysseus was a great Hero. Although he was a great hero, doesn't mean he was a great leader. He did not lead is men to do the right choices so that they could all live. Odysseys was stupid with throwing away the lives of his crew. Instead of just coming straight back home, he decided to go to other islands, create trouble and then eventually get all of his crew members killed. He did not think his planning through. He was hoping and crossing his fingers that his father would save him. He should have known that all of his crew members were not demi-gods, they were just regular people waiting to go back home. He didn't warn them of bad things that were to happen to them at the sun gods house, he almost got them all eaten by the cyclops. By the end of his journey all of his crew members were dead. They didn't even get to be buried correctly. Odysseus did not deserve to be a leader. Yes he was a hero, but he was not a leader because he could not control his crew. He was chosen by the gods to be a leader. That may have gone to his head and it lead to the destruction of his crew, only sparing his life.
