Girls and boys are treated differently all over the world. It can come down to sports; for example, they don’t have volleyball for guys at Afnorth. In Norway guys have to do a military program for a year where as girls don’t. In “To Kill A Mockingbird”, Jem says to Scout “you start acting more like a girl everyday” Scout doesn’t like this because she looks up to Jem and she loves to play outside and she doesn’t mind getting dirt on her clothes. Also she gets into fights with guys, and that’s not normal for a girl Scouts age to do. Scout is being treated differently by her aunt, and she changes Scout into a young lady.

Girls and boys are treated differently in TKAM. Girls are expected to be proper, They should wear a dress and an camisole. Girls are expected to say Yes and No ma'am or Sir. Boys have to behave similarly, but they don't have as strict of dress codes. They are also more favored by Parents and Teachers. Males back then were kind of like the pride of the children (especially first born). Scout is judged many times by Mrs. Dubose about what she wears and how she acts. Jem is also Judged by Mrs. Dubose too. Modern life is much different. Girls and Boys are entitled to wear what they want with minor limits. Girls and Boys are also treated the same most of the time in the modern world.

In the book, we see many differences of the treatment of boys and girls. While both are held to some very high standards, it is incredibly different between the two genders. Boys are expected to grow into perfect gentleman, and girls are expected to grow into the perfect southern belle. However, the limitations placed on girls growing up are much more severe than the ones on the boys. Girls are expected to wear dresses, (though Scout does not, much to Aunt Alexandra's chagrin), and to not do anything to outdoorsy (another annoyance of dear Alex). They are to be pretty dolls, to sit in the background and chat amongst themselves while the men do business. This is in direct contrast to today, when all children are pretty much accepted to be the devil on the shoulder, and women are winning their fight for equality. In relation to this, there is much less pressure put on the males, unlike when TKAM was set. In that time there was a lot of pressure put on boys and young men to take up the mantle that their parents left behind. While there were less restrictions on them as children, there was definitely more expected from them in their adult life.

In To Kill a Mockingbird, boys are expected to be kind and gentlemen, whilst the females are supposed to sit around in dresses and practically do nothing. Jem is told this by Atticus, to keep his head high and be a gentleman. Scout is also criticized by her Aunt about not wearing a dress, and when Scout complains she can’t do anything then, her Aunt said she wasn’t supposed to do anything. Today, men are still expected to be a gentleman for the ladies and aren’t really treated; instead they treat the lady, who receives respect and kindness from the gentleman. Such examples are seen on things like dates, like a man holding the door open for the lady.

The boys and girls are treated differently in To Kill a Mockingbird. For example Scout is told by Aunt Alexandra that she should act more like a lady and wear a skirt rather than the pants she wears. Jem also insults Scout and gets her not to tell Atticus about the trip to the Radley house by telling her she is starting to act like a girl. Aunt Alexandra also tells her how she is more like a boy then the girls that she should act like. Today there isn’t much different treating between boys and girls.

Girls and Boys are treated differently in TKAM. For example, Scout acts like a boy. She wears pans and gets dirty outside.. does not keep herself clean and does not act like a lady until Mrs. Alexandra tried to make her more like a lady and well kept . So girls supposed to wear dresses..skirts.. and act more like a lady but boys don't have dress codes. Today is much different. Everybody can wear what they want to and do what they want to.

In "To Kill a Mockingbird" the woman's rights movement has not yet taken place. That means there will be some gender differences and expectations based on gender. Scout is expected to be a proper lady, while Jem is expected to be a proper gentleman. Many people, including Jem at one point, tell Scout to act like a real women, and not a tomboy. Even though in real life, the women's rights movement has happened, there are still gender differences and sexism in real life. While stereotypes about gender, such as the man having to be strong and heroic, and having to save the damsel in distress, or the women having to stay at home and take care of kids, have mostly been broken, there is still sexism in real life, and people being treated based on gender. This includes, but is not limited to: child custody laws, male or female only areas(such as female only gyms), and unfair representation in media. Of course, thus extends to both males and females, and may not always be intentional. In today's society, people don't have to confine to gender stereotypes In fact, your expected to be different, and if you do act out the stereotypes, even if it's you personality, your harassed for it.

In TKAM boys and girls are treated very differently. Scout is told by Jem that each day she is acting more and more like girl as if that is abad thing. She is also told by many people that if she eer wants to become aproper lady she should sart wearing dresses and stop running around with Jem so much. Jem on the other hand is not ridiculed for run around, schooting his gn, and wearing pants. Today girls and boys are treated more equally but also are seperated in different ways then in TKAM. A school there are sports that only boys are allowed to paly and sports that only boys play. There are different expectations on behavior between boys and girls. However girls now have more opptions in what is considered appropret to wear.

Girls and boys get treated on many different ways. In the book “To Kill a Mocking Bird” when aunt Alexandria makes Scout wear many different uncomfortable dresses and she had to control her temper and not react very badly a front of her aunt. Now girls and boys are allowed to wear whatever they want. Also in the book girls have less power, because back then girls were apparently weaker then the boys. Boys had more control and power and they were good in sports. In present time girls and boys have the same power they can play sports, and participate in many different activities.

In To Kill a mockingbird boys and girls are treated differently like the girls are expected to wear dresses and hate going outside and getting dirty and sit inside knitting or cooking. While the boys go out and work on the farm in pants and shirt and come in expecting a nice home cooked meal that they were out in the fields plowing and doing the farm work or working in the store.

In To Kill a Mockingbird, girls and boys are treat differently. There were no restrictions in treating a child the way you wanted him, or her to be treated. Girls were to wear dresses and be respectful and polite toward men and others, while boys were to grow up as gentlemens and not let women interupt his job. Furthermore, today children are not as much restricted and treated differently. They are allowed to wear anything they want, although it may seem for a boy to wear a dress. There are still some sexist people out there in the world, but we all are together trying to stop them and prevent sexism.

In many different places around the world women and men are treated evenly to some sort but In TKMJ women and men are not treated fairly at all. Women to this day are more free to wear what they want instead of being advised to wear dresses and sit around the house all day. Same goes for men they are free to behave their own way. Men and women are also given the same jobs and are both allowed to vote. So to say that the way women and men were treated was unfair would be a true statement .

In To Kill a Mockingbird girls are suppose to act like woman or if you want to say ladies. Boys I suppose to be strong and believe in moral values. Things have change from then to now. Now people do not believe in moral values like they did, now and the world has lost their class and style. Now there are boys showing their underwear when in the 30’s mean wear suits and had class now they have this thing called swag, which makes is completely stupid. They woman now and days are not lady like at all they all look like they just came from the corner and I have no idea why parents would let their kids go out like that. So pretty much boy and girls have change from the 1930s to 2013.

Women back in the day of TKM is totally different than how it is now. Back then the women were supposed to dress like proper ladies no matter what the age unless one was an infant. They weren't allowed to be a part of the jury due to their supposed always asking questions. They also were usually asked to be dismissed if something got too heated or some words were said that shouldn't be said in front of a lady. Men back then pretty much did what they want with only laws to stop them from going to far. They would also be apart of juries and were usually never asked to leave unless make unfair calls. Nowadays women have more freedom about what they can wear and what they can do. Men a pretty much the same as they were back then.

TKAM shows many different changes in how genders were treated in that time period from today. Women and girls in the TKAM time period are expected to act ladylike, elagant, dress well and not partake in rough activites. They were also suppose to dress proper and avoid the use of jeans/trouser the expection being if they were at an infant age. boys back then were sterotyped as dirty, hardworking and adventurus childeren. they were expected to come home flithy with tatered clothing from rough housing and sports. While in today's time period it's quite different. Most girls in today's society find jeans a stylish piece of clothing and they can compete in rough sports such as soccer, football and even wrestling. Boys in today's society can be clean and partake in femini activities. So a lot has changed bettween what was consider normal for genders to do since then.

In "To Kill a Mockingbird" boys are treated the opposite of girls. Boys, for example are always suspected to be apart or the cause of the trouble. Girls are treated as though they should never be dirty and don't do anything rough. They are also expected to be the best behaved and to tell the boy to stop if they get too rough with them. Boys are also said to be the provocative ones that do all the wrong things and hurt girls.

The two genders treatment and behavior standards were quite different in the years tkam took place. Back then, boys would basically have to be gentlemen. They did all the working and "hard" work and were basically allowed to be all athletic and be outside getting dirty. It was like okay for them to wear jeans and shirts. While girls had to be in dresses and be only in feminine clothing, unlike Scout who prefers jeans and a t-shirt. Girls weren't really allowed to play outside and get dirty with the boys, while Scout does really what her brother does. They were supposed to be raised as young ladies and learn how to take care of the household. In this generation now, it doesn't really matter, because girls can act all guy like as they want and do what boys do.

In to kill a mockingbird, girls and boys are treated very differently. Boys were expected to work in the fields or have an occupational position. Ladies were expected to dress properly and to host social hours for all of their neighbors. In the modern day, both men and women are expected to work and it no longer matters how one dresses. Nowadays, both men and women can have equal positions in society. In the age of to kill a mockingbird, it was not proper for women to have jobs or to work, for in those times it was a symbol of wealth if the ladies did not have to work.

Everyone is treated differently now. Girls now can dress like men and back then it was a shame. The women were expected to be formal and look nice. Nowadays, people don't even care what others dress like. Most people tell scout that she should dress more like a lady. The women of Maycomb tell her that she won't get nowhere if she doesn't start wearing dresses. In the book, men are supposed to be a figure like a Atticus. He is to be gentle, smart, and forgiving. A little wisdom and responsibility wouldn't hurt also. Today, men are just supposed to raise a family and take care of it. Expectations are different for everyone in this world. They change and some stay the same. People dress how they want to now and sometimes that could be a little bad. men and Women have all been treated differently. Men don't g first, and Women don't do much yard work unless she's a Gardener.
