I have a few strengths in English class, but i have many weaknesses. First off, I am moderate at writing essays unless, or course, the essay is a free-write. I am great at doing work that I am interested in, but I am terrible at turning anything in on time. I kind of refuse to do work that does not interest me in any way, and my quality is lacking in the topics i do not like. Contrastly, any topic I love I will write a detailed, elaborate essay that is far longer than the requirement.

My strengths in this class included being able to keep up with all the work. I am good at making sure I have enough support in my essays when we need to have quotes. I also tend to write a copious amount since with 3 quotes, analysis, intros, and conclusions mandatory, my paragraphs are at least 8 sentences long.

My strength in this class is my ability to always have a pencil. I am always prepared or can acquire a pencil in time to complete the lesson on time. I enjoy being prepared to do assignments, and having the correct writing utensil to complete those assignments. My weakness in this class is my procrastination on ALL assignments that are not done or completed in class. It turns out that once I leave the classroom I lose all drive to sit down and work on whatever tasks I am required to do. Instead of actually doing my work, I will opt out and simply do nothing for hours on end. By doing nothing I mean I sit at home, watch TV or even go outside and ‘play with my friends’. To solve this weakness of mine I think I need to invent a device that forces my mind to focus and not wander from my tasks at hand. There are other alternatives however, I could possibly have ADD/ADHD and be put on the proper medications to fix my inability to focus on tasks. I’m not sure if this is a medical problem or if I am just perhaps incredibly lazy and do not have the enthusiasm to do assignments, and should just push through it. Regardless, if I am to continue my ‘educational career’ I need to buckle down and figure it out.

During English 12 I have been able to practice my writing skills and reading comprehension through the course. I have developed strengths in essay writing and comprehending difficult pieces of literature. My weaknesses include poetry. Poetry has always been a weak point in my language arts skill set. My advice to those that are taking this class next year is to not underestimate it. There will be a lot of work, but it will prepare you. Just because a class doesn’t come with an AP or honors label, doesn’t mean it won’t present a challenge, and although senioritis is indeed another obstacle, if you do all the work, there shouldn’t be a problem. Also, beware of deadlines as they are typically sneaky, but manage to find a way of eluding notice until the last possible minute. Make sure your documents are also in the right place and saved in the correct format. Gaggle is indeed a helpful tool, and it even comes with such exciting features as a chat function (albeit school monitored) and a digital locker! Best of luck and enjoy your senior year! You wouldn’t believe how fast it goes by.

First, the weaknesses. When it comes to comprehending work and identifying metaphors my deduction is below quota. There is a lack of writing and reading speed as well. Ability to write vaguely and without having or knowing a topic at had is truly troublesome to me. I have no real strength in literature...merely luck in rambling; my ability to write a poem without a topic is exceeding simply because, as every person, I get lost in my own thinking.

My strength's would be that I am a hardworker and I get things done when they are due. Also when it came to quiz's on certain books that we did this year I did really well on them. I also got my homework done on time and didn't have to worry about certain things being late and everything was on time. On of my weaknesses would be that I didn't do so good on tests because some of the times I didn't study which would be my fault so that's a weakness. In the beginning of the year I turned in homework assignments in late but then that all changed. One thing I would recommend to an incoming student would be that do your reading, your homework, and study for tests. This class won't be easy so you better focus and get everything done.

I would say my main strength in this class is the fact that I always had my work in on time. As advice for students I would say make sure you keep up with your assignments. It may seem like a lot of work but if you actually sit down and do it then assignments become easier and easier for you to do. Also since you have assignments almost every night if you get behind then it will start to pile up and that is the last thing you want. My weakness would be just sometimes now keeping up with the reading. If I forgot to read and then would spend the night cramming my brain and usually wouldnt remember as much as I could have. So make sure you do the reading when it is assigned and don't just think you can get away with reading sparknotes the morning of the quiz because Ms. Moriconi goes deeper into the text than those outlines do. Trust me, I know from experience.

First of all I’d start off with my weaknesses in this class, since I believe I have more weaknesses than strengths. One of the weaknesses in this class is that I have bad time management. When I have homework to do, I tend to leave English work to the last minute, and then sometimes tend to not have the willpower to complete the assignment. Another weakness that I have in this class is poetry analysis. Poetry analysis is probably the single most difficult thing I have ever done. Unlike in math or physics classes where practice makes perfect. With some poems, I just look at the material and think “What am I reading?”. I tend to be able to understand the material better when we are analyzing the poems/pieces in groups. Not only do I have trouble with the poetry analysis, I tend to give up on assignments that have poetry in them unless I can get help, which is another weakness of mine. I DO NOT LIKE ASKING FOR HELP. One of my strengths in the first semester is that I was able to be on top of my homework. Not being late with the reading assignments or the homework was one of the things that helped me receive a good grade the first semester. Another strength in the class is group work, if productive. I tend to be able to complete a larger amount of work in a shorter amount of time with a productive group. I also am then able to understand the topic better as we can discuss it with classmates. What I would recommend to other students coming into this class is that they should stay on top of their work, when confused ASK FOR HELP, and don’t give up on topics that you consider hard.

Even though I was only here for half of the year, I feel as if my English skills were honed as I practiced reading and analyzing poetry, a couple of novels, a play, and plenty of short stories, as well as practicing writing and getting good feedback to help me progress.

I’ve noted during this year that my strength lies in my ability to properly analyze and understand most things I read. In contrast my weakness is my distinct forgetfulness in turning in the work I do. My advice for anyone is that whatever you do; always turn your work in when you finish it. If you wait till when it is due then you will forget about your work and not turn it in. Not doing this has killed me many times.

Congratulations! You have decided to take the correct class to help you in your future education. In this class, you will learn to write very well. By the end, you will easily be able to analyze a book or a story, and write an essay with quotes! The amount of work in this class is a lot, but so is the reward and preparation for college. I feel much more prepared from taking this class, and I’m excited to show my new professors my skills. The downfall I had in this class is turning things in on time. When you get an assignment, you should turn it in when it’s due! You will get full credit for the assignment, and you won’t have to stress or worry about getting it in. Overall, I felt I have become a much stronger writer, and you will to! Just take the time to read the books, do all of the work on time, and pay attention to the lectures in class, and you will be successful a student in Language Arts 12.

To all those entering Language Arts 12, there are some things that you should know. Time is important to manage, work can easily build up and you get lost and distracted. My strength has been finding people to give me paper and pencils and help out if I am ever behind. It is good to have group support; if you don’t understand things or forgot something they can help you out. Otherwise I have numerous weaknesses, I procrastinate and always try and find excuses not to do my work.

Being a student in the AFNorth high school section can be either rough and tedious, or gentle and flowing based on your personality and work traits. Unfortunately, I was always the man who would work hard in class and wouldnt work at all outside of school, so homework was my biggest issue. I had no motivation to go to school for seven seven hours and then go home and have around an hour or more per class every night, ON A GOOD NIGHT. And this is what i believe to be my only major weakness in Mrs. Moriconi's senior English class. There have been so many times i have been sitting on a high D or a high C and not passed over because i just simply wouldnt turn in my homework! Then I'd have to scramble at the end of every quarter to finish it all up and submit it so my parents wouldn't skin me.. Biggest advice there is put aside some time when you get home to finish your work and get it in, because it's very important in this class. Now, I also have some positives in the class. My highest trait in ENG12 was most likely poetry analysis, especially with the sonnets. I could interpret the meaning and the poet's motives behind the story very well. This helped me out later when we started analyzing bigger stories, but the stories are way different and took much more time. You would probably be best off to read over all of your short assignments multiple times as to develop an understanding for the author's work instead of a simple basic content knowledge.

My strengths are nothing compared to my weaknesses in English 12. I am strong at being able to convey thoughts and understanding in essays, as well as use POV in all the points I make. I am able to free rhyme off the top of my head, so poetry in some cases that I’m interested in is easy for me.
