Act 1. D- On pages 50 to 51, Betty wakes up and shouts who she saw with the Devil. She was motivated to get back with God and get free of Lucifer. This relates to prior scenes because before Betty woke up, she was under the Devil's control and would not admit what she had done. Betty was doing witchcraft and paid the price. We learn more about her in this scene because we find out she did actually do witchcraft and drink chicken blood. We also see that she wanted to go back to God because he loves her no matter waht she did.

Act 1 B. "It is not for you to say what is good for you to hear!" I believe it means that it is better to hear someone say something you were going to say instead of you saying it and possibly look crazy. I chose this because it sounds unnatural.

Act I) D. During Act one a bunch of girls were found in the woods dancing. Which included Abigail, Betty, and Tituba which Tituba invited them to participate. The people of Salem believe what they were doing had Witchcraft/ Devil work included in this. To back themselves up the girls made excuses and blamed people for see or talking to the devil.

Act 1: Abigail’s reaction to the mounting pressure determines the way in which the rest of the witch trials will play out. Because she can no longer truly deny her involvement in witchcraft, she accepts her guilt but displaces it onto Tituba. She admits being involved in witchcraft, but declares that Tituba forced her into it. Proctor sarcastically reminds Mary Warren, that he bans her to leave his house, and he threatens to whip her if she does not obey his rules.

Act I) D. Parris explains finding the girls dancing in the forest at night. The ones that were dancing in the woods were Abigail, Betty, and Tituba. They were dancing in there because Tituba had invited them to come. So the people around Salem were assuming that they were doing The Devils work or Witch craft. And because they were being blamed they were saying other people were doing it so they didn’t get caught. As well as Mrs. Putnam reports having sent her daughter to visit the spirits of her dead children. She asks if losing seven children before they live a day is a natural occurrence
