Mark Twain addresses slavery in "Adventures of Huckleberry finn" by showing ways of how blacks are treated or showing how Jim is treated throughout the story. Some examples are when they put a bounty on Jim so people would return him or how he had to hide or be treated like he was huck's slave. The way racist language is used in this story is by a lot of people describing blacks as niggers and I believe it should be omitted just in case some people get offended by the use of the word.

Mark twain issues slavery by showing how Jim was treated as a slave. he showed how Jim was called a Nigger most times. twain described some of Jim's labors as a slave. The text Twain uses in the book should not be omitted. It is historical and it shows how blacks were treated in the past. People should know about this.

Jim, who isn't a very intelligent person, was always tortured and made fun of. Who was made to do work for others when they could have done it themselves. White people weren't afraid to use the word "nigger" because whites thought of themselves higher than the black people, and considered them animals or non-human beings. The language Twain used shouldn't be omitted in my opinion because the book is a part of history. It has a sense of Fiction, and non fiction at the same time. You think this is a real story, when in fact it isn't.

I dont think it should be ommited because i think that by keeping the language in there it helps us understand how people talked during that time and how they acted towards others and sometimes how cruel they could have been . If it was to be taken out then we wouldnt be able to understand how badly some people were treated during that time. If we talk that way today as they did back then its really wrong and we shouldnt talk that way towards others or be racial but some people are still like that today. It is wrong that people were treated that way back then but there isnt anything we can do about it now except to learn from the past and to move forward and not make those same mistakes again and to be better than we once were in the past and to be kinder to people without racical gestures or words. He adressed it by talking the way they talked back then because then we have a better understanding of how they were treated during the slavery time.

Mark Twain brings up parts of slavery throughout the story, and actually has Jim playing the role of a slave. The way the word "nigger" is used should be omitted, yes. They could use another form of that same word but I get that people were labeled as that back in the day, so it only makes since to make the story seem like it's in the olden days.

In this novel, author describes what Jim's life was like as a slave. He wasn't treated as white humans. He was called "nigger" a lot, like all the other black people. When Jim decides to run away with Huck, he had to hide from everybody, and since he was black, people would take him and sell him. I think the word choice shouldn't be omitted, because it shows what exactly happened.

Mark Twain shows how the slaves were treated in the times of slavery. Jim was treated bad and he was seen as less than a human. Even though Jim wasn't as intelligent as most white people, he was still smarter than most slaves. Twain shows the harsh environment the slaves were in. He also shows that all humans are equal and he shows that a white person and a black person can be friends. I don't believe that racist language should be omitted because it makes us feel how bad it must of been to be a slave and how rough they were treated.

In the story, it is back and forth between racism. It shows that Huck has respect even though Jim is a "Nigger". This shows that Mark Twain not only shows how they were treated but what could happen. The King and Duke sell Jim because he is a nigger to get quick money, Huck must find Jim for he is his friend now. It was a good idea to not omit racism because without it, you would not be able to tell when this was happening. It would be just like a normal epic.

Mark Twain doesn't directly discuss/address the issues of slavery by calling out the faults behind the belief bur rather, he mocks it satirically and by using many characters such as Jim, Huck, Tom, Uncle Silas, and etc. He explains his view on slavery by creating the character Jim, a runaway slave who was separated from his family. He also shows the struggle that blacks went through by issuing a bounty on Jim for his return so he can go back to working as a slave. They use the word "nigger" many times and this also represents the dialect they had back then.

Mark Twain gives us a brief description of how black people were treated back in the day through Jim. Jim is being called names and people even make fun of him sometimes for being black. Mark Twain shows us how hard it was for black people to become free back in the day. In the book we see that Jim can not even be seen during the day because otherwise his freedom will be taken away. Mark Twain uses the exact same language that was used during the time against slaves but it should not be omitted because Twain does not mean any harm by it, he just wants to make the reader better understand the setting.

In the novel Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain shows that slavery is a big issue trough the characters having doubt that black people are even ment to have freedom. Huck’s internal struggle of wether to send a letter to Miss Watson to tell her Jim has escaped or not is a good example of this, as he thinks he’ll go to hell if he helps Jim escape, just because he is an escaped slave.
